Why Does A Fridge Need A Cooler At The Top

The biggest source of heat in a fridge is the warm air that rushes in every time you open the door. Cold air sinks, so it collects at the bottom and, in a fridge freezer, the bottom shelves will be coldest. But in a fridge with an ice-making compartment at the top, it will be the top.

In the refrigerator, the cooling coil through which the refrigerant passes is wound around the freezer, thus the refrigerant takes the heat away from the air present near the freezer. But, there should be cool air in every part of the refrigerator.

Simple Physics, maybe? Freezer is the source for the refrigerator’s coldness. When the freezer is placed on top, the cold air produced from it is denser than the warmer air in the bottom. So cold air being dense sinks down and the warm air is forced to rise up so when the warm air rises up it and gets cold in the freezer.

Clogged condenser coils can produce poor circulation of air, restricting your fridge’s ability to keep cool. Where They Are Located: Condenser coils are located across the bottom of the fridge or on the back.

Why do Refrigerators have a cooling system at the top?

Why do we not keep bananas in the refrigerator physics?

Why should you not put bananas with other fruit?

“Bananas make other fruit ripen because they release a gas called ethene (formerly ethylene),” added Dr Bebber. “This gas causes ripening, or softening of fruit by the breakdown of cell walls, conversion of starches to sugars and the disappearance of acids.

Can you store bananas next to tomatoes?

Some produce emits ethylene gas, a natural plant hormone that helps fruit ripen. Other fruits and vegetables are sensitive to this gas, and will start to spoil before their time. If you’ve been storing your bananas with apples, or your eggplant with your tomatoes, this is happening to you.
