For the internet to become popular, we first needed computers, and while the first computers date back to the 17th and even the 16th century, the first digital, programmable computers broke onto the scene in the 1940s.

Vinton G. “Vint” Cerf (born 1943) is an American computer scientist. He is recognized as one of ” the fathers of the Internet “, sharing this title with Bob Kahn. He earned his Ph.D. from UCLA in 1972.

Kahn and Cerf invented the frameworks on which internet networks and information still run on to this day. They set the rules and began building the invisible infrastructure we all rely on. Then in 1989 Berners-Lee creates the World Wide Web, the platform that we all use the internet on today.
