Tim Jacobus (/dʒəˈkoʊbəs/; born April 21, 1959) is an American artist best known for illustrating the covers for nearly 100 books in R. L. StineR. L. StineEarly life Stine was born on October 8, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Lewis Stine, a shipping clerk, and Anne Feinstein. He grew up in Bexley, Ohio. He comes from a Jewish family. The way Tim Jacobus tells it, he wasn’t always going to be the cover artist for Goosebumps, the horror-for-kids R.L. Stine series. He and another artist, Jim Thiesen, took turns on the first two, but Scholastic ultimately went with Jacobus, and he ended up illustrating covers for over 100 books.
