In Siddhartha, Siddhartha learns that enlightenment cannot be reached through teachers because it cannot be taught—enlightenment comes from within. Siddhartha begins looking for enlightenment initially by looking for external guidance from organized religion in the form of Brahmins, Samanas, and Buddhists.
In the traditional Indian medical practice known as Ayurveda, samana is one of two types of langhana treatments designed to relieve the body of heaviness. Samana is considered a palliative treatment that transforms doshas (bio-energy centers) from abnormal to healthy.
The term, samana kriya, translates as “pacifying practice” and is associated with samadhi, the state of enlightenment and the final of the eight “limbs” of yoga. During These Times of Stress and Uncertainty Your Doshas May Be Unbalanced.

Samanas are the wandering ascetics, worn out men, almost naked, seasoned in the weather, strange, hostile and like jackals in the world. Though, they pretended to have renounced, the passion lurks in their heart.
