Was The Great Wall Of China A Failure

Many historians have questioned whether the Great Wall was a success or failure. In fact, it was built by default. The Chinese imperial court was plagued by infighting and border security became a primary concern. In addition, “barbarians” from the northern steppe routinely threatened the Middle Kingdom. In the 13th century, Genghis Khan’s Mongols finally conquered the Middle Kingdom.

The Great Wall, as it is now known, was not only a huge financial disaster, but it also failed to serve its intended purpose. While it may have been a massive project, it did not actually provide much security, and in the end it was mostly a matter of political propaganda. Its sheer size may be its greatest argument. While the wall has a storied past, its modern day value may outweigh its historical importance.

Unfortunately, enforcement of the new regulations has been a problem. There is a cultural heritage bureau with only three employees overseeing the entire 900-mile-long network. Even Cheng Dalin’s intervention came too late to save the wall in three areas. Despite this, the Great Wall of China remains a remarkably beautiful architectural work, but its destruction has a lasting impact on the environment. However, the thorny problem of desertification has yet to be solved.

In 1972, Richard Nixon visited the Great Wall during his breakthrough visit. During the tour, Nixon said that the wall exceeded his expectations. The Great Wall has become a pilgrimage site for Western leaders since then. But is it really a success? There is much debate on this question. The answer depends on how you view it. But let’s not dismiss it out of hand. There are several reasons why it failed, so let’s explore them and learn more about this ancient construction.
