I don’t think there’s anyway to know whether Ibn Sina aka Avicenna, was a Sunni Muslim or a Shia Muslim. He had many Hanafi jurists (Sunni Muslims) but he was also connected with Shia Islam probably because of his tendency towards Falsifa (Greek Philosophy). If I am not wrong, then the Shia group, Ismailism was the champion of falsifa of that time.
