The main reasons being – 1) we do not have any feature tiles. 2) the main bathroom tiles are to be 2000mm high in the shower and 1200mm to the rest of the walls. My personal opinion – having the 300 x 600 tiles laid vertically to 1200mm, they do not look finished. Ceiling height tiles I feel you could have them laid either way.
