Before you fly, you should know how to check the status of your Global Entry application. The process should take about 20 minutes, and there’s a one-time fee of $100 to apply. You must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, and select citizens of more than 10 countries can apply. You can apply for Global Entry by visiting the website and clicking on the “Trusted Travelers Programs” section. You’ll need to confirm your email address, consent to security notifications, and provide a government employee ID card.
If you are traveling within the U.S., you will need to provide a valid passport as well as a valid ID. After you’ve applied, the government will send you an ID card, which will take several weeks to arrive. However, you shouldn’t worry, as the enrollment process can take up to two weeks, so it’s important to check the status of your application regularly.
Once you’ve submitted your application and paid, you’ll need to schedule an appointment at one of the enrollment centers. To keep the conditional approval active, you’ll need to enroll on your arrival. To make sure your card is still valid, you’ll need to enroll in Global Entry within 365 days of conditional approval. You’ll also need to update your passport and visa information. If your conditional approval is still valid, you must enroll before your next trip abroad.
