Did The Declaration Of Independence Start The Revolutionary War

Did the Declaration of Independence Start the Revolutionary War? The Declaration of Independence is one of the three founding documents of the United States. It became a landmark document of democracy and had immense influence outside of the United States. Perhaps its greatest impact was on the French Revolution. But despite the controversies surrounding the document, it remains a necessary document for the formation of the government in the United States. Here are some facts about the Declaration of Independence.

The Declaration of Independence was written by the Committee of Five, which was a group of men who were involved in drafting the document. They gathered in Philadelphia on June 7 and adopted strict rules of secrecy. They also abandoned hope of reconciliation with Great Britain. A resolution to declare independence was introduced by Richard Henry Lee. The Congress formed a committee of five and assigned the task to Thomas Jefferson. In the committee’s first draft, he explained the reasons for independence in the Declaration of Independence.

Although Thomas Jefferson is often credited as the author of the Declaration of Independence, he was only one of five members of the Committee of Five. Another committee member, John Adams, did not sign the document. He believed it was too early to declare independence. The Committee of Five included Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and John Adams. The final draft was signed by all five of them, but Livingston and Roger Sherman did not sign it.
