Estelle Margaret Parsons (born November 20, 1927) is an American actress, singer and stage director. After studying law, Parsons became a singer before deciding to pursue a career in acting.
Was the 64th actress to receive an Academy Award; she won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for Bonnie and Clyde (1967) at The 40th Annual Academy Awards (1968) on April 10, 1968.
Her elder sister, Mrs. Elaine Parsons Ruggles, was born on November 16, 1923 and died on December 20, 1996, aged 73. She was awarded the 2010 Back Stage Garland Award for Performance in a Play for “August: Osage County” in a Steppenwolf Theatre Company production at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
