All this means that the more intense the light shining on your eyes the more light is scattered and the paler your eyes will appear. “Black” eyes will go brown, brown will appear yellow or green, green can go blue, and darker blues will go grey.

I said earlier that all eyes are brown, in blue eyes the melanin concentration is so low that instead of reflecting the brown the pigment scatters the incoming light and what is seen is blue because of an optical illusion.
